we have a bowling green which, ove the winter has attracted a lot of moss. This has been scarified & spiked, but despite having seeded the areas, the area will not grow. have raked all the dead areas, applied watering agent, laid silica sand and re-seeded. Is this the solution? Would appreciate your advice on this. Many thanks Ian

Hello Ian - you have'nt mentioned how long you bowling green has been down but the build up of moss is due to too much water on the surface. In order to resolve this problem, you will need to hollowtine the area or put vertidraines into the entire area. Scarifying and spiking the area will not solve the problem. You need to get to the roots not just the surface so solid holes between 4 - 6 " deep into the roots will help to airate the area getting rid of the water retention. Hope this helps please call me if I can be of any futher assistance.
